From absurdist workplace sitcoms to folk horror, our slate spans film, episodic, short-form digital, and live storytelling.
At first glance comedy and horror may seem like an odd-couple, but they operate in very similar ways. Both genres play at either end of an emotional spectrum, using surprise to subvert expectations while providing a sense of escapism and catharsis.
Our projects explore the existential threat of the climate crisis in a way that captivates audiences.

These core mandates paired with our spirit of testing and iterating mean that our slate is intentionally diverse as we work on projects across format, sub-genres, and geographies, to explore what resonates most with audiences.

FOUNDER
+ EXECUTIVE PRODUCER
Jessie is a producer, funder, and comedian working at the intersection of climate and culture, who founded Carmark Productions in 2025.
Jessie is also the Founder and Executive Director of The Carmack Collective, a philanthropic fund investing in movement building and culture change organizations working to combat and dismantle the fossil fuel industry. Previously, she organized with 350.org and the Sunrise Movement and worked in digital media strategy at Digitas and SocialCode.
Named a Grist 50 Fixer for her climate work, Jessie also serves on the Advisory Board of the Climate Film Festival and performs stand-up comedy across New York City.
RICKY BENAVIDEZ
ASSOCIATE PRODUCER
Ricky is a producer, philanthropic strategist, and systems thinker working at the intersection of climate, culture, and power. He is Associate Producer with Carmack Productions, where he supports projects that use storytelling and creative media to shift narratives and strengthen climate justice movements.
Ricky is also the Managing Director of The Carmack Collective, the sibling organization to Carmack Productions, investing in the movement building and culture change organizations working to combat and dismantle the fossil fuel industry.
Named a global fellow at the W.K. Kellogg Foundation for his work in philanthropy and community leadership, Ricky sits on the jury for the Climate Film Festival, is advisor to the NAACP Climate in Color Program, and leads Social Impact Partners, a firm focused on family philanthropy and the redistribution of wealth.
LA HEAD
CONTENT STRATEGIST
LA is a content strategist, actor, and screenwriter based in Los Angeles, CA. They have worked with Jessie and Carmack Productions since 2024 on Slick the Web Series as an associate producer and content strategist.
LA was 1 of 20 selected to pitch their film “Dear Uncle Dick” at Femme Filth Pitch Competition in May 2026 and are currently working with a producer on their first feature film which they will write and direct.
They most recently starred as Sherman in House of Telescopes at ART New York, and as “Betty” on FBI:Most Wanted. They have toured across the country with experimental theater-maker, Andrew Schneider & dance-theater choreographer, Faye Driscoll. They wrote, directed, and starred in their own short film PLAYED, about a serial dater who, tragically, gets dumped by the void.
